Honey Bottling

Steps to Bottle Honey:

1. Clean Everything: Ensure your jars, funnel, and any other equipment are thoroughly cleaned and sterilized. You can do this by washing with hot soapy water or running them through a dishwasher.
2. Prepare the Honey: If you’ve just extracted the honey, let it sit for a short period to allow air bubbles to rise to the surface.
3. Strain the Honey: Pour the honey through a strainer or cheesecloth into a clean container to remove any wax bits or debris.
4. Fill the Jars: Place the funnel into the mouth of the jar and pour the honey carefully. Fill each jar, leaving about 1/4 inch of space at the top.
5. Seal the Jars: Wipe the rim of each jar with a clean cloth to remove any honey residue. Securely cap or seal the jars.
6. Label the Jars: If desired, label each jar with the date, weight and any other relevant information (like the type of honey).
7. Store the Honey: Keep the bottled honey in a cool, dry place. Honey has a long shelf life.  Storing it away from direct sunlight will help maintain its quality.
